Step 1: Pickup and Transport
After you accept our quote, your car is towed to our dismantling yard in the Gisborne region. All removals are free, and scheduling is easy.
Step 2: Removal of Hazardous Materials
Your vehicle is first inspected and stripped of dangerous fluids and components:
-
Engine oil
-
Coolant and brake fluid
-
Petrol or diesel
-
Airbags and batteries
These are disposed of in accordance with NZ environmental safety standards.
Step 3: Salvaging Reusable Parts
Next, we recover parts in good condition. These might include:
-
Alternators and starters
-
Engines, gearboxes, and radiators
-
Doors, lights, and mirrors
-
Tyres and wheels
These parts are cleaned, tested, and resold — helping other Kiwis keep their cars on the road for less.
Step 4: Shredding and Metal Recycling
Once stripped, the remaining car shell is crushed and shredded. Metals such as steel, copper, and aluminium are separated and melted down for use in new products.
Step 5: Recycling Tyres and Glass
Tyres are turned into rubber surfaces used in sports fields and playgrounds. Glass is ground down and reused in construction or insulation materials.
Step 6: Keeping Gisborne Green
By recycling your vehicle, you’re helping protect our local rivers, beaches, and bushland from harmful pollutants and waste. Over 90% of your car is reused or recycled.
